Shinrin-yoku and Reiki
Shinrin-yoku is the Japanese health and healing art of Forest Bathing and a term associated with Forest Therapy. A recent post on Instagram from the Synthesis Institute suggests the idea of spending time in nature and as a health and healing method today known as "Shinrin-yoku" began in the 1980's with Scientific Studies confirming it's health benefits. Studies with participants who spent 3 days and 2 nights Forest Bathing experienced significantly lower levels of cortisol a stress hormone and saw a 50% increase in natural killer cells which play a crucial role in immunity and the expression of anti-cancer proteins.
