Natures Own Aromatherapy

Image
Aromatherapy has been known to promote better health and even improve sleep quality, the rich and vibrant natural scents help to stimulate the brain and senses in ways only achievable by certain aromas. This is also why natural essential oils are popular among holistic health care professionals .  Aromatherapy is useful to enhance our mood and senses thus having a healing and positive impact on the mind and body.  Shinrin-yoku invites us to captivate and enjoy the natural scents and sounds in a woodland or forest environment.  This Japanese health and healing art has been part of a Scientific Study  with participants who spent 3 days and 2 nights Forest Bathing experienced significantly lower levels of cortisol a stress hormone and saw a 50% increase in natural killer cells which play a crucial role in immunity and the expression of anti-cancer proteins. Floating in the atmosphere of the forest are microbes that help to make us feel happy and phytoncides which give u...

Reiki for Self Care and Mental Health

Image
Mikao Usui Sensi developed healing methods around the concept of hands on healing and utilising what is commonly known as energy or "Life Force Energy" in China it's called "Chi" and in Japan it's referred to as "Ki". Since we all have "Ki" and with certain practices, techniques and methods passed down from teacher to student through the Usui Reiki lineage we can tap into the natural self healing energy which is already within you and around you.  With certain methods and practices, we can harness the healing power that is already flowing through the body. Sometimes the body has what might be referred to as an energy blockage, stress is usually the cause of nearly all illness, pain and inflammation and stress is often held in many different parts of the body while also having a relative impact also on the mind and emotions thus creating energy blockages. Reiki can help to resolve these issues and can be either received as a treatment ...

Reiki and Hopi Ear Candling

Image
Reiki and Hopi Ear Candling work really well together as the Practitioner will usually have one free hand available to treat the crown while allowing the other hand to steady the ear candle while allowing the candle to burn which can take approximately 12 - 15 minutes for each ear to be treated.  I was blown away by my very first experience with Hopi Ear Candling as I had always had bother with blocked ear canals since I was young and it could often affect my hearing.  There was nothing the Doctors could do... My Doctor said, maybe you just have narrow ear canals?  But Hopi Ear Candling helped me get my hearing back to normal and my ear canals feel as clean as a whistle. "My hearing improved 100%" I clean my ears using this method of Hopi Ear Candling at least every 3 months as routine maintenance and it has a lasting effect for me.  Shortly after my healing experience with Hopi Ear Candles... I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to attend The S...

Shinrin-yoku and Reiki

Image
Shinrin-yoku is the Japanese health and healing art of Forest Bathing and a term associated with Forest Therapy. A recent post on Instagram from the Synthesis Institute suggests the idea of spending time in nature and as a health and healing method today known as "Shinrin-yoku" began in the 1980's with Scientific Studies confirming it's health benefits. Studies with participants who spent 3 days and 2 nights Forest Bathing experienced significantly lower levels of cortisol a stress hormone and saw a 50% increase in natural killer cells which play a crucial role in immunity and the expression of anti-cancer proteins. Reiki is also a fascinating Japanese health and healing art which started in 1922 and is known for it's safe and effective hands on practice as well as the alternative method where the Practitioner performs distance healing, a service which can be fulfilled remotely. Reiki is performed by a qualified practitioner using a variety of techniques and dif...

The Nature and Essence of Reiki

Image
The simplicity of Reiki is what makes this gentle Japanese healing art easy to learn and understand.  When I learned about Reiki for the first time, I was really curious as to how it would be possible to use hands on healing as a means to better health and recovery, but I had never considered becoming a practitioner until some years later when I had a very surprising and unexpected experience with my dog Leo. Leo at that time was a suffering from digestive issues and had developed other health issues in his old age. He had been bothered a lot with seizures which often made him tired and he could often cause injury to himself. I felt so helpless, as there was not much I could do, then one day, while comforting him I felt a strange sensation in the palm of my hand it was a subtle sensation very different from physical touch, I was standing about 2 feet away from him when I experienced the uncomfortable prickly energetic feeling in the palm of my hand. I didn't give it much thought at...
